As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, there is to be a large river pageant made up of up to a thousand boats, led by HM The Queen herself. Just in front of The Queen's boat will be a floating belfry on a large barge containing the Garlickhythe bells (a 9 cwt ring of 8). The procession is set to depart from Chelsea Bridge and finish at Greenwich. Bells therefore
are an important part of this pageant, and those who conceived it would like the bells from the barge to be answered by those on the riverbank.
